Continuing its expansion into the U.S. coworking market, Colombia-based operator Verde Colab has announced the purchase of flex office HudsonDesk, located at 7000 JFK Blvd. E. in Guttenberg, N.J.
HudsonDesk provided dedicated workspaces, a private office, semi-private curtained team pods, a call booth, and a creative studio, and is equipped with a kitchenette, outdoor terrace and garage parking. Verde Colab will personalize the shared workspace by changing the branding and adjusting the operating model.
“When I first saw HudsonDesk, what stood out wasn’t just the space, it was the opportunity to build something really unique in a market that doesn’t have enough options like this,” said Christopher Heffernan, founder of Verde Colab, in a statement. “You have an incredible view of Manhattan, garage parking, a beautifully designed space, and a community of people who already use it to work and create. It gives us a great foundation to bring the Verde experience to North Jersey while keeping the character that made HudsonDesk special.”
The coworking space is within a 13-minute walk of three shopping centers, while nearby eateries include O2 K-BBQ and Rumba Cubana. The bus stop, located right in front of the building — along with the Port Imperial Rail, a two-minute drive away — makes the space accessible to professionals and small teams who want to be close to Manhattan, but who don’t want to deal with the New York City commute.
“I built HudsonDesk because I needed a place to work that was quiet, inspiring and close to Manhattan,” said Hosam Hassan, founder of HudsonDesk. “Nothing like that existed in this part of Hudson County. The new location marks the operator’s third flex workspace in the U.S., the other two being located at 2842 Mt. Carmel Ave. in Glenside, Penn., and 3514 Landis Ave., Unit 102, in Sea Isle City, N.J.
