Incompetent, incapable, and uncoordinated;A.K.A My experience with Ulake Apartments, owned by Core Spaces. For the past week and a half, I’ve been trying to get a lease here. I submitted my application two weeks ago on a Friday. I’ve made it clear that I didn’t want a co-signer on my lease (I emailed 3 times and texted them 5 times until I got confirmation that I didn’t need it.)but they held up my application until last night after I made my 12th call to them in a week (first time they actually answered). This person finally helped me get my application pulled through after once again confirming that I didn’t want a co-signer.They told me when it was approved I could move in the following day (August 17th, 2024). Looking at my application portal, I was approved that day. Moving in the following day was a lie I showed up the following day (August 17th), after a 3 hour drive, and went into a crowded leasing office. No lines, a hodgepodge of chaos. I was finally assisted by a friendly young woman. She said that she would assist me with getting a lease and would just need to stand to the side until her manager could assist me. Another 20 minutes passes until another young woman came out and asked what she could do for me. I informed her that I was waiting to speak to a manager so I could lease my room like I was promised I would be able to. She informed me that management had barred them from leasing rooms the day I was promised I could move in and would receive a phone call from the manager. I asked to speak with the manager that day and was informed I couldn’t, after she walked out of the office and pointed right at me.I highly doubt I will get a phone call. I wasted time, money, and gas. Thanks Core Spaces.

Core Spaces does not answer their phone and they do not respond to emails. They hire incompetent people to manage their building. My daughter was locked out of her apartment due to a faulty door/key fab at Oliv Tempe at 12:29am on 9/21. We called the number provided on the website, in an email sent on 9/12 and in the FAQs on the resident portal over 20 times. We spoke with dispatch each time and they told us they were unable to reach anyone to assist us. My daughter was not let into her apartment until 9:05 am!!!!! Completely unacceptable. I left multiple messages as well with the staff at Oliv and never received a call back. I called multiple times once they were open at 9 am and finally had someone answer at 10:40am. I sat on hold for 14 minutes before a very rude and unapologetic manager, Olivia, refused to allow us to have more than one key and doesn't appear to see that this is a problem at all that her staff did not respond to a lockout for over 8.5 hours. She simply shrugged off the problem referencing that they offer lockout assistance as a courtesy but sometimes their staff doesn't respond. The call is recorded for your reference. Olivia also suggested she had no way to escalate this issue beyond the management at Oliv and no way to reach her management team. I repeatedly asked how to get in touch with someone other than Oliv and she finally reluctantly told me core spaces.

As a tenant of a Core Space property I am perplexed as to why someone cannot call back on a matter regarding the unit. I know that everyone likes to email, but a call would be nice as the email does not explain the issue at hand. I would not recommend Oliv in Auburn, AL to anyone as they nickel-and-dime you regarding your utilities (3rd party vendor).

Terrible organization. They are kicking out hundreds of low income tenants in Isla Vista to replace their units with luxury apartments.
