The place isn't very big, but it's very comfortable to stroll around. There aren't many animals, but they are very cute. Regular tickets are $22, and tickets for those 60 and older are $19, but ID verification is required ($22 for the regulars).

Now bear in mind that I went to this park when I was a little child 50 some years ago, and I took my children when they were little, 20 some years ago. So that's all I have to compare against when I took my grandbabies this week. They got rid of almost all the old playgrounds and put in boring, "safe" play structures, so that was a disappointment. They added more rides, so if you have little kids who are not afraid of going on rides, they might like that part of it. The zoo was the biggest let down because there were hardly any animals to see, two little goats in the "petting zoo", and the most interesting animal we saw was the male turkey!! Anyways, we came away very disappointed and felt it was so not worth the $22 a person plus $10 in parking. we would've been better off going to a local playground.

The San Jose Zoo is a nice spot for a short family outing. The zoo isn’t huge, but it’s well-kept and easy to walk through, which makes it great for kids. Some parts of the zoo feel a bit small or limited, but the staff is friendly and you can tell they’re doing their best to keep everything clean and welcoming. It’s a simple, relaxing place to spend an hour or two, especially if you’re looking for something fun and low-key with the family.

Great location for children’s parties. With all catering and cleaning up after included, plus access to all the attractions it’s a no brainer of a venue.
