Yesterday we went to a fair that was supposed to be focused on crafts. In reality, there were very few crafts. Most of the stalls were just regular shops—there were even antique shops and clothing stores. It didn’t really make much sense as a craft fair. That said, there were a few stands where you could clearly see people making their own items, like jewelry, but not all of them were like that. There were also barely any stands.

There is no praise high enough for this restaurant! We got it confused with Il Pescatoro the first night in town and they said yes to my name and reservation to steal the customer. Given the warm, friendly wait staff, the knowledgeable, detailed and skilled owner (whatever she recommends, eat it!), wonderful food and excellent wine they couldn't compete, so stealing customers must be their only resort. The myrtle liqueur is family made and the best by a mile I tried on the island. Sweet talk the owner and she might sell you a bottle. I've travelled on a company dime for many years and eaten in hundreds of restaurants. This has now joined the highest tier in my memories for the food alone, with only one other being on par (Stepping Stone in Benbecula). The ingredients are fresh and perfectly cooked, the gnocchi the best I've had in my life and never a bad glass of wine poured. It's good value for the quality so do yourself a favour and try it. We went back three times it was so good!

Very central with lots of staff at the gin festival. Only downside not enough toilets.

Glasgow Real Ale Festival at the Briggait. Easy to find, good venue for this type of event. Plenty of places to go before and after for food if you don't get your fill from the embedded vendors.
