Two out of 5 toilets are closed for renovation! Security fine. Decent selection if food and drink outlets. Departure experience is much much better than arrival.

The whole departure process was very well organized for such a busy airport. Even though there were lots of people, the wait everywhere was minimal. You don't need to open your bags during security check, and liquids are allowed in cabin bags.

Went through Edinburgh Airport back in September 2025 and it was one of the worst airport experiences I've ever had. Extremely crowded with limited seating, the facility does not seem to have been updated since about 1980 or so. Gate areas are extremely cramped, leading to a noisy, chaotic boarding process - which involved descending numerous stairs and walking outside to climb a stairway to the plane even though jetways were there but unused. The closest comparison I can make from my experience is Katmandu Airport in Nepal, though that was fair quieter with better seating. I should have known what I was in for after leaving security and being forced to make a long walk through the duty-free store, complete with its perfume smells bothering my allergies. Just a terrible experience from start to finish.
