I've just moved in and am so happy to be here! The location is amazing for food and transport, the space is secure and perfect for my needs, and I've felt very welcomed. Very excited to get creating and fully settle in.

A really great and affordable space, so fantastic to have my own little space to be creative. It is my sanctuary! And has given me the opportunity to grow my creative practice. The Hotel Elephant team are lovely, helpful and quick to respond. The building feels secure and safe. Would definitely recommend to other independent designers, makers and artists.

Inviting Works of Art The platform given to both artists Liberty Antonia Sadler and Thiara Smith was a pleasurable experience to commemorate London Design Festival which took place from 16 - 24 September 2023. It was a fantastic showcase in the visual articulation of modern Art expressed by individuals who believed they have something to say about the evolving times we live in and they had something worth sharing with the masses through their artistic medium on display at the Creative Elephant, SE17. As part of the design district both artists have given the audience opportunities to see their works in person and that engagement makes us all aware of their relevance to the processes of marking Art. Sadler uses mosaic pieces in her works of Art to present her cherished medium vibrantly. Each work on display features the name of the entitled Art piece incorporated into the design. Such instances as 'Eternal' is a forever piece that can be placed on any wall with confidence. The circularity of 'Milky Magick' is an organismic notion of imaginary thoughts which conjure up something like an unattainable fantasy on the show. By adapting that frame of mind there are cinematic qualities to believing in the idea of knowingly placing hope on thinking beyond visual practicalities in Art. Lastly, the art of 'Ancient and Always' enunciate what it means to be a woman across time. Time change the physicality and physiological frameworks of how the female body should be objectified at different stages of femininity across the lifespan. Each strand of femininity seems to be a ritual for renewal in being comfortable within an individual naked body. The pieces proudly present a peaceful ambience in the Sidecar Coffee on Spare Street, Elephant and Castle. By contrast to the work of Liberty Antonia Sadler, Thiara Smith is a contemporary Artist whose pride in her heritage means she wants the masses to celebrate the culture that belongs to the inhabitants across the Caribbean. In doing so, Smith through some sort of artistic osmosis by inviting others to enjoy expressions of Caribbean culture across the Art medium of fashion she highlights using bold hues of yellows, greens and blues to visually transport the visitors to any tropical island they could think of. The denim jacket with a yellow and turquoise coloured parrot is a shining example of Thiara Smith designing that relates to our sensory expectations by relaxing for comfort.
