Pros:
Gather has a beautiful, modern aesthetic, and the common areas are usually welcoming and very clean. My favorite aspect of the workspace is the 24/7 availability. As a neurodivergent person, being able to work at nontraditional hours significantly improved my productivity. The building security is excellent, with controlled access and attentive security staff. There are also frequent member events such as happy hours, cookie socials, and professional headshot sessions, which I appreciated.
Cons:
Parking in the area is extremely expensive (approximately $4/hour for street parking). There is a garage available for members at around $90/month, while guest parking is free. Including garage parking in the cost of membership would make it more appealing. Parking is free after 6pm, which is when I often came to avoid the cost.
While the staff was initially friendly, repeated issues with attention to detail and accountability ultimately led me to end my membership.
After my tour, the community manager sent my welcome information to an incorrect email address, despite me clearly providing the correct one. I chose not to escalate it at the time in an effort to move forward in good faith.
The incorrect email address used belongs to an individual from whom I am intentionally and legally separated due to documented safety concerns. Because of this, sending my personal information to that address created a serious personal safety and privacy risk. I did not escalate the issue at the time and attempted to move forward in good faith.
My first invoice was then dated incorrectly, resulting in a payment being drafted earlier than expected and causing significant banking issues (account closure). The billing specialist acknowledged the error and apologized.
The following month, an automatic payment did not clear. I contacted billing but received no response for nearly two weeks. When communication resumed, the tone was unexpectedly demanding, and dismissive to the gap in communication, gaslighting me stating “recurring payment issues”, when clearly the initial issues were on their end. I did not bother to contact the manager, because she told me she “had nothing to do with the billing”, during the first issue, which was extremely off putting. My membership was ultimately suspended while I had attempted to resolve the issue, while being sick, and also scared about the breach of my personal security.
Most concerning, sensitive account and suspension emails were once again sent to the same incorrect email address, despite prior notification. This resulted in my location and financial information being shared with someone who should not have access to it, raising serious concerns about privacy, data handling, and personal security.
Due to these repeated administrative errors, I no longer felt confident that my personal information was being handled responsibly.
Additional notes:
• Private offices are very small and best suited for one person
• Limited privacy due to thin glass doors and partial privacy film
• Office doors cannot be locked from the inside
• Bathrooms are occasionally out of order or poorly maintained
• Printers are available, but there are no shared desktop computers to access them
Overall, Gather offers a beautiful space with strong amenities, but management and administrative practices need improvement. I would recommend more experienced and detail-oriented staff, particularly for members handling sensitive or confidential
information.
