Our organization had an annual agreement with Regus from that was terminated in September 2020. When COVID disrupted our operations in March 2020, we notified Regus in April 2020 that we would not be renewing beyond the original term because we could no longer justify the expense. We vacated the space in April 2020. Despite the financial uncertainty surrounding COVID at that time, we honored the full one-year agreement and continued paying through the end of the contract term in September 2020 so the contract could be concluded cleanly and professionally. Then, in February 2021, months after the contract had already ended, Regus attempted to impose additional charges that we immediately and formally disputed. We repeatedly requested clarification and a response; we received none. After that dispute, we did not receive a single invoice, bill, or collection notice from Regus between February 2021 and July 2025. Based on more than four years of complete silence after formally disputing the charges, it was entirely reasonable to believe the matter had been resolved or abandoned. Then, without warning, Regus suddenly revived the disputed balance, added years of late charges and penalties, and began aggressive collection efforts over a matter that had been dormant for years. What makes this even more frustrating is that the renewed collection attempts were initially being sent to an old email account that had long since gone unmonitored because this issue was over five years old. It only recently came to our attention after repeated phone calls and threatening collection messages. Until this experience, we had actually spoken mostly positively about our prior relationship with Regus. Unfortunately, the handling of this matter completely changed that view. Businesses should keep detailed records of all account closures, disputes, and communications when dealing with Regus.
