I recently reserved a day office at Firmspace (500 W. 2nd St., Suite 1900) in Austin, and the experience was excellent from start to finish.
This was my first time booking with Firmspace, and the reservation process was extremely easy. The workspace managers were responsive, helpful, and even assisted with the scheduling process. As someone who lives in San Antonio and doesn't frequently visit Austin, I also appreciated how easy the building and Firmspace itself were to navigate.
Upon arrival, building security was professional and helpful. When I reached the 19th floor, I was greeted by the same staff members who had assisted with my reservation a month earlier, which was a nice and felt personal. They provided an orientation to the space, a secure access badge, and clear instructions for accessing the various amenities.
The workspace itself was immaculately clean, quiet, comfortable, and highly conducive to focused work. While the internal layout took a few minutes to learn, I was provided a map and staff made themselves available if I needed assistance. Fortunately, everything was intuitive enough that I never needed to ask for directions!
My workspace featured two desks positioned on opposite sides of the room…that wasn’t my ideal setup for the type of client-facing work I do; while I prefer a single table or desk between myself and a client, it worked perfectly well. Next time I book with Firmspace, I’ll simply ask whether a different room configuration is available—no biggy.
The entire experience felt polished and professional. Even the departure process was seamless, and the staff remained just as friendly and welcoming at the end of the day as they were when I arrived.
The only unexpected part of the experience was learning at the end of the day that parking cost $36. While that’s not unusual for downtown parking, I think guests would benefit from having parking costs highlighted more clearly during the Firmspace booking process. It certainly wouldn’t discourage me from booking again, but it would help set expectations in advance.
Overall, I was extremely impressed with both the facility and the people who run it. Firmspace provided the kind of environment I was looking for, and it will be the first place I book whenever I need workspace in Austin in the future.
