DO NOT BOOK ANY COMMON HOUSE LOCATION — ESPECIALLY FOR A WEDDING Paid $5k+ for our September wedding welcome drinks at the Common House Charlottesville location. They shut down overnight due to landlord eviction over unpaid rent. Now refusing to refund anything, hiding behind ‘ongoing legal process’ boilerplate emails with zero timeline. Weeks later - zero timeline, zero refund, zero accountability. This company took our hard-earned wedding money, can’t manage their own bills, and is now screwing over brides during one of the most stressful times in our lives. If they treat paying customers like this, imagine what else is rotting behind the scenes. We’re out thousands and scrambling for a new venue weeks before our wedding. Avoid at all costs.

Great historical transformation of a YMCA with nice pool. Sadly no free parking & chairs which are as old as the place which make some >200# people anxious to be seated. Otherwise it has alot of potential for those who can afford it.

Overall this place is great, however, all of the reviews that say they were fraudulently charged by Common House after they cancelled, are true. I have met dozens of people that have fallen victim to this, just as I have. Tried to handle this with the service desk, and staff, but they gave excuses and blamed me, even though they had admired they received the cancellation request and confirmed. Just be mindful and keep records and know this is clearly ok with the management.

Haven't stayed in the rooms but they look nice. Food at restaraunt is wonderful and really love the pastries! Parking is limited. Location is great. Service is very good. Just joined so haven't tried everything they have to offer yet. The special, social dinner event was fun! The seating areas are cozy. We really loved the outside dining area in the fall.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please reach out to Common House for more detailed information on membership options and pricing.

  • Most coworking space amenities are open to all members, regardless of the membership plan. Meeting rooms require prior reservation, and private offices are exclusively available to those with subscription packages. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to everyone. Complimentary amenities are also available to all, while ancillary services can be purchased or negotiated individually with Common House.

  • Open desks may be the ideal choice if you thrive in a collaborative environment and value the opportunity to connect with fellow coworkers. Dedicated desks, on the other hand, provide a designated space with shared community amenities, catering to those who seek a balance between privacy and interaction.

For ultimate focus and private interactions, private offices are best for solo individuals and teams that seek uninterrupted productivity.

Selecting the most suitable workspace for you typically hinges on your work style and preferences, but it can also be determined by the type of work that you do, its duration, and whether you work alone or in a team.

  • Adaptability is at the core of coworking, so membership options are always designed to cater to your changing work requirements and team dynamics. Most spaces offer month-to-month memberships, enabling you to adjust your workspace to your changing needs. Whether your business is growing or downsizing – or you just want to upgrade to a more private setting – you always have the flexibility to make the changes you need.

While your membership agreement may have specific terms regarding changes, don’t hesitate to reach out to Common House to discuss accommodating your adjustments.
