I used to go to indy hall a while back and Im surprised this place has so many 5 star reviews (that or all the bad ones get deleted). I think I wrote a review a while back but it either got deleted or shadowbanned, so I will try one more time to speak my peace about this place. This place is strange and not in a good way. It tries to sell community and being super open minded, but its neither of these things. More time is spent on discord and zoom than actually talking to each other in person. People who show up there dont seem like they wanna talk to anyone and just want to get work done. Most people who come here are IT workers/programmers, so if your not in that field, be prepared to have nothing in common with anyone who goes there. Also, too many people in the discord arent even in Philly or anywhere in the Delaware Valley or even in the US for that matter. The social life is terrible as a result. Happy hours were cringe in that you would be drinking while talking to some strangers on zoom that were in Canada or Europe that you will never meet, like the fact that these people call this a "community" is a joke. There was virtually nothing this place offered to help create bonds among the coworkers themselves. The coworking space itself is half empty all the time too, too many remote workers that just want to chat online and never wanna do anything in person. The people who run the place only seem to care about their bottom line and nothing more. As long as people are paying their membership fee and it doesnt matter if they are even in the US or work in similar fields. They seem to care very little of who actually shows up to this place other than people spending money. In addition, they put way more effort into attracting 3rd parties for events there than they do their own coworkers. Very few of the events involve get togethers with the co workers. And if you tell the people who run this place this, its their way or the highway basically. If you want a place to develop real relationships with any substance, this isn't it. This place is only great if you want to pretend your working all day and pretend that you have friends. 2 stars since the coworking space itself is cool, but beyond that, its not much better than WeWork.

I went there to attend a seminar. The topic was Self Defense. You would be surprised if what you thought you knew. It was very educational and also you receive positive information from among the audience. I really enjoyed and would recommend anyone at this day in time to get informed. Know your rights.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • At 709 North 2nd Street, those looking for a workspace for an entire day, Day Passs are available. In addition, Coworking Memberships can also be booked on a monthly basis.

  • Most, if not all, amenities are available to you as a member, regardless of the type of membership. Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member. All complimentary services are available and anything ancillary can be purchased or negotiated with Indy Hall.

  • Storage in coworking spaces can be limited, with most of it reserved for members with dedicated desks and private offices. However, you can reach out to the coworking operator using the form on the right side of the page to see what options are currently available.

  • Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the best parts of coworking. Most coworking memberships are month-to-month, so you can quickly adjust your space preferences according to your unique requirements and the size of your team. Whether that means upgrading the space or downsizing it or even completely changing the type of coworking subscription that you use, you always have the option to adjust as you go.

It may be possible to adjust your membership before current membership ends, but you will have to discuss and negotiate directly with Indy Hall, who is more than happy to help out.

  • The open desk is the way to go if you’re looking for a flexible workspace in an open environment where you can socialize with other members. Or, choose a dedicated desk if you want a designated space that also allows you to keep in touch with the community.

A private office works wonders if you or your team need a quiet, secluded space to conduct your work and interact with people in your organization.

It’s important to understand the different types of coworking arrangements available to you, depending on the type of work that you do and its duration, and whether you’re a solo worker or part of a team.
