I came here while visiting NYC and was thrilled that they offer free passes for those who work in the industry. The staff were super nice and I enjoyed chatting with other climbers. It was thoroughly sandbagged but as a routesetter I didn’t really mind. The boulders were interesting and I left with some fun ideas to set in the future. Thanks for supporting fellow industry workers. 🤍

My wife and I went in with our 6 year old today. $127 for 3 people. Ok whatever it should be fun so no worries. We got geared up and went downstairs. Only 2 Auto Belays in the entire place. The second I clipped into one, a staff member asked me to stop so he could demonstrate the auto belay to a birthday party for a few minutes. Ok no problem, good for the kids. Except that he never gave it back. The birthday party with 8 kids then took the auto belay, i never saw it again. The other auto belay had a line of 6 people (that can take 30mins waiting easily, . So I went up and asked if we could use the regular below ropes. We weren't familiar enough so the answer was simply "No". So $127 and we literally could not climb anythign in the facility other than a small bouldering section. Ok whatever, fine. We''ll just cancel this and get a refund, no big deal. Nope. "No refunds, all sales are final" we were told. An absolute joke. The staff was just doing their job but it's a horrific policy. We walked downstairs and came back upstairs 2 minutes later then left. Nothing to climb. $127.
