I’m currently dealing with bird mites in my apartment, and while I understand that pest issues can happen in NYC, I’ve been disappointed with how the situation has been handled overall. Communication and response times have been slower than expected, and I’ve had to follow up multiple times by phone and email for updates. Extermination was completed, but I shared that I still did not feel comfortable staying in the apartment afterward, and I was disappointed that no accommodation support was offered. I was also told that pest control services are supposed to happen monthly, which has not been my experience. Up until this situation, I had generally enjoyed living here, which is why this experience has been particularly frustrating. I hope management takes situations like this more seriously moving forward and improves communication and resident support during these kinds of issues.
