Update: Downgrading from 2 stars to a 1-star review. After three weeks the general manager has not returned my call. This Marriott does not live up to the level of customer service you should expect from Marriott hotels. I've banned our team from staying here in the future which, in three weeks, has already cost the hotel 8x the no-show charge. They don't care about you, about customer service or brand loyalty. - - I’ve stayed at this location several times until I found the Springhill nearby. The primary reason for the poor service review is because I had to cancel a reservation a couple of weeks ago which I did by providing all requested info via Marriott’s online chat support. Because I provided all info I assumed it was cancelled until I saw the charge on my credit card a week later. Even though I provided screenshots of the chat thread to both Marriott support and the hotel, they refuse to refund the charge. I travel for work nearly every week and book, modify and cancel trips regularly. I’ve never run into such unreasonable customer support reps, especially for someone who (was) a loyal Marriott customer.

Absolutely disappointing experience with this hotel. Even though I am a Platinum Elite member, they put me into a 2nd floor where you are like in a basement and you feel suffocated being a claustrophobic. No greeting even though I am platinum elite member while checking in. In front of me, another person was given a room on the 4th floor and he was not even a silver member. This is not the right treatment and one should avoid this hotel at all cost.

I’ve stayed at this location several times until I found the Springhill nearby. This is an average Fairfield with a slightly awkward breakfast area and smaller rooms which you expect in New York. The staff have always been friendly and the rooftop area is really cool. I was given a room on the second floor with a window in the back of the building with no light. As an elite member of Marriott Bonvoy, I requested a different room, which they gave us a little bit larger room on the10th floor. On the second day of stay, we requested for room cleaning, which they did, but the sheet has stain of a bug and tiny blood. I took the picture and showed to the manager. His response was: "Thank you for letting me know"! Other than these two, hotel service was good.
