I was a member of Friends Work Here for over 2 years. I walk almost every work day from Dumbo to my desk at this space. The place really lives up to its name. I've made many real friends here that I stay in touch with and meet on weekends regardless of whether they are still members. The common area is social and hospitable. But it's not so social that I can't get my work done. The quiet room where desks are makes all the difference. I am sad that my situation changed and I had to move away from this community. This is not a desk rental, it's a professional community. I'm very grateful for it.

Every time I walk through the door at Friends, I take a deep breath and soak it in. Friends is so thoughtfully designed as a physical space – you can toggle between a bright, quiet, plant-filled desk area and a cozy (and also bright and plant-filled) kitchen/living space with a communal table, comfy couches, and coffee shop vibes depending on your preference. More importantly, Tina does a striking job of encouraging a culture of community here. Unlike some other co-working spaces I've spent time in, the folks here want to get to know each other, clean up their darn dishes, catch up over lunch, and act as collective stewards of the space. I feel at home and welcome here and so have any collaborators I've invited in for meetings. TL;DR -- Friends is special.

Sunny. Friendly. Intimate. "Friends Work Here" lives up to its name. Before I shared a desk, I was a frequent visitor and immediately impressed by the warmth of the space, both in style and friendly vibe. It's the perfect antidote to the anonymity of large urban co-working. You can regularly find co-workers sharing lunch at the table or making an extra cup of tea or coffee for a "friend." The space is sunny and well-appointed. The neighborhood is near anything you'd want. There's a quiet work zone and a convivial community zone. There are 2 phone booths (bookable), 2 small phone rooms (sign-up daily), and a medium sized meeting room. We share a slack for celebrating wins and coordinating group lunches. Occasionally we host a balcony concert, happy hour, or soup swap. Creative Mornings also hosts some of their clubs in the space— which always attracts new people and inspiration. Most folks have some touch to the creative industry in some way— but there's tech, finance, and legal folks as well. It is a great fit for individuals or small teams looking for a professional respite and sweet community. Plus, dogs. Need I say more?

If I could give this place a 6th star I would. Great space, convenient location, lots of good food/coffee nearby, and full of the most wonderful folks!
