I NEVER write reviews but this felt needed. Very odd place to live at 97 Newkirk. There's loitering in the lobby literally everyday between the staff and 1 tenant who is extremely strange. He wears all white/cream clothing. He sits in the lobby almost everyday around 7am to 1am. I've even seen him open the door for people who are NOT tenants or delivery personnel which is concerning when the concierge steps away. He hangs around with every concierge on site and gossips with them including the super Jorge. I feel awkward retrieving packages from the concierge as if I'm interrupting his conversation with them. He stands there waiting until I'm done so they can continue chatting. I've spoken with neighbors about him and they've noticed the same. One neighbor thought he was a homeless man who needed somewhere to stay warm. The security and confidentiality of retrieving mail here with him around is alarming.

I have toured a lot of different apartments in the JC area over the past week and I have to say not one made me feel more at home than the Cmpnd, specifically this Newkirk building. The staff are insanely accommodating and top notch. Huge shoutout to Jonathan, the leasing agent we were talking to, for being so kind, courteous, helpful, and responsive at all times. I applied and was approved with a lease in hand within an hour. Can't wait to move in!
