I’m extremely disappointed with the Financial Aid Office at Central Community College. Instead of helping students and families navigate a stressful process, they made everything far more complicated and frustrating. The staff member we spoke with was very rude and dismissive. When we tried explaining our situation, she bluntly told us, “I don’t care,” which was honestly shocking to hear from someone whose job is supposed to be helping students succeed. We were told to contact the IRS ourselves, even though getting through to them is extremely difficult because of the long wait times and limited availability. Rather than offering guidance or solutions, we felt completely brushed off. Financial aid can already be overwhelming for families, and the lack of compassion and professionalism made the experience much worse. It feels like they forget students are there to pursue an education and need support, not attitude and unnecessary obstacles.
