Great deal if you’re looking for a quality co-working space with reasonably-priced memberships. The atmosphere is really neat, and the free coffee is a huge plus. Great way to break up the monotony of working from home and getting out. I highly recommend Switchyards!

I’ve been going to both Switchyard locations in Charlotte for several months now. I usually go to the Belmont location, but I’ve been to Oakhurst a handful of times. Although the space is beautiful and comfortable, the music volume is obnoxious and distracting. Sometimes it’s jazz, which is nice, but sometimes it’s literally the kind of bass heavy, electronic music you would hear at a lounge or club. It’s so loud that it seeps into the quiet focus room. It’s so loud I hear it over my noise canceling headphones. It’s so loud that you can’t answer a phone call without having to speak at a higher volume just so you can be heard. It’s so loud that I have left mid-task because the bass was so heavy that I couldn’t focus on my work. This isn’t an issue exclusive to the Oakhurst location, this is a problem at the Belmont location as well. Judging by the reviews left of both locations, which although are good, have mentioned the volume as an issue in many instances. This is an issue that needs to be addressed with something other than ‘thank you for your feedback, we will look into it’ which is just customer service code for 'go kick rocks'. I’ve DM’ed on Instagram, I’ve emailed, I have friends who are members who have emailed, and I have a friend who canceled their membership over this. Turning the music down is such an easy fix, and I don’t know why this feedback is not being taken and applied. Otherwise, the space is perfect and I've loved working there (on slow music days). There is comfortable furniture, tons of natural light and the decor is well curated. The staff is super friendly and the space is always clean! If the music ever gets turned down, I would gladly change this review to five starts!

Huge fan of Switchyards!!! Great atmosphere, great people, a perfect place to mix it up after years of working from home. Would highly recommend if you're a remote worker!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most, if not all, amenities are available to you as a member, regardless of the type of membership. Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member. All complimentary services are available and anything ancillary can be purchased or negotiated with Switchyards.

  • Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the best parts of coworking. Most coworking memberships are month-to-month, so you can quickly adjust your space preferences according to your unique requirements and the size of your team. Whether that means upgrading the space or downsizing it or even completely changing the type of coworking subscription that you use, you always have the option to adjust as you go.

It may be possible to adjust your membership before current membership ends, but you will have to discuss and negotiate directly with Switchyards, who is more than happy to help out.

  • Please reach out to Switchyards for more detailed information on membership options and pricing.

  • While storage in coworking spaces is generally limited, and mostly reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices, you should always check with the coworking operator about additional storage solutions. Fill out the form on the right side of the page to reach out to them and learn all about the available options.

  • Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Reach out here to set up a time to come and see the space.
