Safey is important. I've spent my career in risk and security. That involves the well-being of humans above all. That's why I can confidently say that if you have to infringe on the safety and well-being of one group to preserve another, you aren't doing a good job of security in general. I was with a very low-key group talking around a table in a room when we were abruptly evicted over a verbal exchange that happened in a different room that wasn't loud enough for us to have heard. I don't disagree that after the verbal exchange that I found out about later that it made sense to ask the group to leave to avoid any kind of ugliness or confrontation. But unaware of this separate exchange, people in our group, of a sensitive minority, believed they were being targeted. There was no way to discern the sudden hostility as anything other than that. This was so poorly handled that we expected it was bigoted before we realized they were addressing some kind of safety issue. After this really upsetting and totally unnecessary intervention, management doubled down and insisted that treating us with hostility was the only way to manage the severe verbal threat occurring elsewhere... to my knowledge authorities were never involved. So apparently it either wasn't that severe or they're full of it. I would not consider this a safe place to function, especially given management's ongoing responses. The safety and well-being of the patrons matters. As such a patron, you made my group and i less safe and you were contemptuous and condescending. Other people in that group felt the need to stay until everyone was clear of the building so we do agree that Safety and Security is important. It's just that in this case YOU were the factor that made things less safe and you didn't take accountability for your role in that. To be clear, nobody seems to be able to explain why aggression was necessary. Im ignorant of what unhinged conversations occur in many rooms, near and far. Rarely am I held accountable for them without explanation. I was invited to an event at your facility. The host unilaterally operated elsewhere unbeknownst to me. You may share as many hand waves as you like. Sounds like a person who invited me in said something really concerning somewhere to someone. Seems like your response was a hostile eviction of a very clearly upset and clueless group. Playing law enforcement was an odd choice. Though I'm certain you're unmoved by the harm you caused. Much of this would have been handled by acting remotely sympathetic to these folks. Be human dude. You are wise to take decisive action in time of danger and crisis. That's not what occured to us. Seems we both lack some details. People were harmed in my party. Being callous and doubling down is cowardly of you.

The Sidecar is a great place to work and has a great balance of quiet dedicated work spaces as well as water cooler/social areas. Good programmed events, and is a good spot to be if you need an 8 to 5 work space, or just a place to pop in once a week to get out of the house to see other humans.

We used a space tonight and we were supposed to go till ten, but we got very rudely kicked out and they made our group coordinator cry, the bald guy was especially rude. Nice atmosphere until that tho

Whoever watches the place really killed the welcoming vibe. If I am in need of an office space, I will not choose this place.
