BUYER BEWARE. This place is not what it seems. Signing here has honestly been one of our worst business decisions. - The tour was misleading and not honest about actual policies or costs. - The office is often unstaffed, yet meeting rooms stay locked. - We were charged over $200 extra for “daily internet usage,” and no one could even explain what that meant. The manager Sylvia Arciga hasn’t responded to calls or emails in 9+ days. I always leave a voicemail and she never returns my calls. - They charge separately for things normally included in shared office spaces. - We were billed for a coffee amenity we never signed up for and there wasn’t even a coffee machine. - The shared fridge had rotten food sitting in it. - Basic issues take forever to fix, including getting locked out of the building because our access code didn’t work on a day we needed our equipment. - You also can’t rely on having private meetings when office doors stay locked and emails and calls asking for access are ignored. We’ve worked out of Industrious and WeWork before. Neither was this disorganized and we never had billing surprises. Here, we’ve had unexpected charges every single month and it’s only been three months. We were given an office with paint damage and I recorded to show them so we were held accountable for it. She said it didn’t matter because everyone gets charged a restoration fee anyway. So you move into a damaged office and still pay to “restore” it when you leave. They charge a two-month retainer fee, which isn’t standard at any other co-working space in town. It’s clear they rely on it because of how sketchy their billing practices are. In fact, Regus had a class-action lawsuit over this that I wish I would’ve known about. Save yourself the trouble.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Coworking spaces typically have limited storage options, most of which are reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices. With that said, it’s best to contact the coworking operator directly via the form on the right side of the page to learn about available storage options.

  • Most coworking space amenities are open to all members, regardless of the membership plan. Meeting rooms require prior reservation, and private offices are exclusively available to those with subscription packages. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to everyone. Complimentary amenities are also available to all, while ancillary services can be purchased or negotiated individually with Spaces.

  • Spaces - Kansas City - Walnut Street operates during regular business hours, as indicated above. For access outside of these hours, please contact the operator directly to inquire about any available options.

  • Flexibility is the cornerstone of coworking, so you always have the option to adjust your workspace to match your current needs. With month-to-month memberships, you can effortlessly upgrade, downgrade, or even switch between different coworking plans.

While the standard practice is to change memberships only once the current one ends, Spaces may be able to offer additional options, so it’s best to reach out to their staff directly.

  • For spontaneous collaboration and interaction, open desks provide an open and flexible environment. If you prefer a dedicated space with shared community elements, dedicated desks offer a great balance between personal space and interaction.

On the other hand, private offices are best suited for focused work and private interactions. They're ideal for solo workers as well as teams seeking a dedicated space, shielded from distractions.

Choosing the ideal coworking arrangement for you is about aligning your workspace with your work style, team dynamics, and project requirements.
