We originally booked Catalyst at Nature Link for our August 20, 2027 wedding because we truly thought it was our dream venue. Unfortunately, our experience after booking was deeply disappointing. We later discovered that our wedding weekend coincides with the NHRA Brainerd Nationals, a major annual event that has historically occurred during this same mid-to-late August period for years. We were never made aware of that when selecting our date. Once we began checking the lodging recommendations provided through our own wedding dashboard, we found many nearby hotels either unavailable or prohibitively expensive. We contacted Catalyst early and tried to find a reasonable solution. We were not asking for a refund or trying to walk away from the venue. We simply asked to move our wedding by a matter of days and continue spending nearly $14,000 with them. Instead, we were told that our only real options were to keep the original date or cancel, lose our deposit, and enter into an entirely new contract at additional cost. What disappointed me most was the lack of flexibility and professionalism. Catalyst had the discretion to work with us and chose not to. Wedding planning is already expensive and emotional, and this experience made us feel trapped rather than supported. We ultimately found another venue with kind, responsive people who were willing to communicate openly and work with us, and we have now moved our wedding elsewhere. I’m relieved to have found a new venue, but I’m genuinely sad that the wedding we envisioned at Catalyst was lost over something that could have been handled with more compassion, transparency, and goodwill.

We were there for my daughter, Lindsey and her husband Jackson’s wedding on Friday, August 14. We are still receiving compliments to this day on the venue, the food, the decorations and the total ambience of the wedding. People are saying it is one of the best weddings that they have been to! Our venue manager was Laura. After the flowers were delivered, we realized there was an issue with the amount of flowers delivered. Laura immediately said she would do what she could to help and she reached out to Jaci Ohotto, whom I don’t think was scheduled to work that day. Within an hour Laura and Jaci had a plan and everyone pitched in to add the most beautiful flowers to all the tables. They absolutely saved the day with their expertise in solving a problem very quickly while being understanding, friendly and supportive. I truly can’t thank them enough for their professionalism, their advice, their kindness and all around help to make this a very special day.

We attended a wedding and reception here. It is a beautiful secluded spot on a lakefront property. Onsite catering for a large group was excellent! Individual meals were served to all in record time. There were at least 8-10 servers. Not the typical 3-5. That made a big impression.

Terrible customer service. Take videos and pictures before you check out! They are claiming “damages” that weren’t there when we checked out .

Catalyst is such an incredible venue. Every part of the property feels intentionally designed, making it both beautiful for couples and incredibly functional for vendors. The staff is absolutely amazing to work with. They're welcoming, organized and genuinely care about creating an incredible experience for both the couple and the vendor team. Their attention to detail and willingness to help throughout the day makes everything run so smoothly. One thing I especially appreciate as a photographer is the dedicated vendor room. Having a space to store our gear, stay organized, and take a quick break throughout the day makes such a difference and shows how much thought has gone into creating a great experience for everyone involved.
