CrossFunction is a community of people from different areas working safely together. A place where history informs, design accelerates, and culture motivates professionals to be well and do great work.

The Boulevard Arcade was originally designed as one-story prairie-style structure in 1906 by prominent Oak Park architect, E.E. Roberts. In 1922 a second story was added by Chicago architect, Arthur Jacobs and the building was transformed into a multi-tenant indoor shopping arcade devoted to women. In 2007 the building was restored to it's approximate the 1922 design and was officially dedicated an Oak Park Historical Landmark.

Today, the arcade still boasts the brilliance of it's past, including exquisite tin ceilings, iron staircases, terrazzo flooring, and hardwood frames and doors. The main conference room features a spectacular working vault door, where in its heyday as a mall, resident merchants safely secured high priced garments.

Like you, we are adapting to a new normal and sparing no effort to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. The iconic collection of 24 private offices and workspaces at the Boulevard Arcade in Oak Park, IL are designed and equipped so we can work safely together.

I had an exceptional experience with CrossFunction. It's a professionally run space, clean, and extremely accommodating. Scheduling with the space was painless and the management was friendly throughout. We used their meeting space—based on that experience, I would be eager to try their studio for recording purposes.

This place is great. I was in from out of town and needed a place to work for the day. They had a private cubicle that was reasonably priced. I checked several OP coworking spaces’ websites and some listed single-day passes as an option. Crossfunction did not list this (or I didn’t notice it), but I happened to be close by and stopped in to ask in person. The guy running the place was super nice and helpful and even accommodated a couple of needs I had that were not part of their typical offerings. The cubicles have open tops so you can hear other people on phone calls but it feels like being in an office, not overly intrusive. I had 2 important calls and didn’t worry about bothering other tenants or having their voices come through on my calls. WiFi was good and they have good coffee, cold water, etc. I will definitely be back here if I have a similar need in the future.

Had my 40th birthday party at the BLVD Studio and in the Vault space at Cross function. What a perfect setting for this event! We were able to have a DJ, dancing, mingling and all the other party accoutrements with enough space for people to breath. Trent and Christine were amazing throughout the planning process and the day of execution of the event. I highly recommend this space for you next event!
