comfy and affordable, this air bnb is within walking distance of five points - places like Richard's bar, and 7-11. there are other bars and restaurants nearby as well, and it's a quick lyft to the Salt Shed. there was a fridge and coffee maker (and coffee) available in the common areas. we had a comfortable stay, and will most certainly be back.

Booked a trip at their sister property in Wicker Park. I have stayed in the area before and enjoyed it, know what to expect, etc. However the day of check in, I received a texted stating our room is unavailable due to a leak and we have been moved to Grand House. I’ve attached the text message. No option was given to decline the stay for a refund. I received the “confirmation” of my stay at Grand House. We were driving to Chicago at this point, I responded and said got the info. I asked about street parking because one of the draws to Stay. They said there is free street parking available. We arrive at Grand House and all streets around the property are either paid hourly parking or residential permit parking. I ask where the free street parking is. They tell me the streets. The closest street with parking is a mile away. How is that not misleading? At about midnight, loud music starts playing. Our floor and bed are shaking. At 2am, the music hasn’t stopped. I message Grand House. It sounds like the music is coming from within the building. This is not normal road noise (however the noise from the road was terrible. The windows do not dampen any noise.) Our room, room 3, was on the second floor. Grand house replies at 2:21, asking for more details about the noise and where is it coming from. I reply and at 2:30 I ask for a different room. The music shows no signs of stopping and we would like to get some sleep. At 2:39 they say they are working on resolving the issue. At 2:57 they say they are sending a team member to the property. At 3:40 I ask for an update. At 3:46 I receive a call from Grand House saying there is nothing they can do, and that there is another room available on the third floor of the property if we would like to move. However, the room is booked the next day so we’d have to exit the room by 11am. There has been another room available this whole time? I say yes. They say they will send the information about the door code. I don’t receive anything, so I just go up to the room and try my room code. Door does not open. At 3:54 I ask for an update. At 3:57 I call them again and ask when the code is going to be ready. I do receive the text while on the phone and we are able to get into the room. Now it is 4am, I am completely delirious, we just want to get some sleep before the sun rises. It’s not like this place has decent curtains, so the rooms are bright when the sun comes up. The sound is damped in the second room. We manage to get some sleep and we leave the property before 11. We leave our original room as well. We have no desire to stay here another night. It was a horrible experience starting with the text moving us to this new property. I tell them we have checked out of both rooms and request a refund. They moved us to a separate property with different amenities, and there was a rave occurring until 5am. I’ve attached the messages starting with this. They say no, our reservation was non refundable (yes, I was unable to cancel if our plans changed - this situation was different.) They offered a stay for different dates. There is absolutely no way we are returning to either of these properties. They continue saying our options for the alternative stay were clearly communicated. Where in their message was our option to cancel? They finally offered us a different room to stay in, if that had been offered at the beginning maybe we would have taken it. However, it wasn’t, and we had already left Chicago. The stay provided was not what I booked and paid for. Also, there are signs up saying if there are issues to tell the front desk. There is no front desk. You can text or call a number. It’s misleading to have signs telling guests about the nonexistent front desk.

Amazing stay! The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the parking was convenient and easy. Everything was well maintained, and the service was excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
