You won't even get a seat on weekdays! About to cancel because it's absurd Also pretty hot in here during the summer/fall :( blast that AC!
A great place to work. Beautiful interiors and finishes. Great coffee, music, and internet speed. You can take a call or meet a client. You can head to the “library” area for quiet focus. I find something new to appreciate every time I go. I’ve never experienced it being too busy to find a spot. And Sean is an awesome proprietor.
Every Weekday it's super overcrowded, if you don't get here by 8AM good luck standing the whole day! Too many memberships... Also pretty hot in here during the summer :( blast that AC!
Weekdays it's so crowded that I cannot find a seat! They put out too many memberships it's absolutely packed M-F. Really terrible planning.
I was skeptical of Switchyards. The launch party was a very venture capital hipster vibe, and reviews of other locations talk about music that’s too loud and AC that’s too cold. But I decided to give it a try because I WFH, live in a small apartment and am always distracted with whatever chores I need to do, plus I have a dog who loves to bark during important meetings. Wasn’t expecting to but so far I LOVE IT. The music and AC are at perfect levels. The power of body doubling to help with focus is in full force here, it is much less distracting than a cafe. I thought the no meals rule would be annoying but actually it kind of just enhances the function of getting in, finishing a few tasks on your list, and getting out. You can’t bring in “work stations” but lots of people have slim external monitors and tablets. I am going to make a concerted effort to keep going to my local cafes, not for work but for pleasure. That said, the recent $9+ price tags on non dairy drinks in Logan Square sometimes makes me feel like I’m not even wanted as a customer.
