Gave them 1 star because I had to in order to comment. Terrible company that keeps trying to intrude and take land that doesn't belong to them. They don't listen to the people that is screaming at them about not wanting their ideas to come to life (because they are terrible ideas). The community in which they are trying to "make better", is the very same community telling them they don't want what they have to offer. No one will support their ideas or their projects if they are completed. Not to mention how sneaky of a company they are trying to pass projects without informing the community. No one wants this snake of a company in their community messing around!

Simply a business aimed at gentrifying downtown alton and ignoring its extensive history of diversity and hosting local artists and community nonprofits. They say there goal is to support the community but simply intend to leech off the local community in aim of unrealistic profit and unchecked greed

The treatment of the Arts Center is shameful: a proposed 80% reduction of space AND a massive rent increase. AltonWorks has shown the community they put profits above all else, despite their proclamations. I would give them zero stars if that was an option.
Whether you're a day pass holder or a monthly member, you can access most amenities. Meeting rooms do require prior scheduling, and private offices are reserved for those with subscriptions. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to all. Complimentary services are also available regardless of membership tier, while ancillary services can be purchased separately or negotiated with AltonWorks.
Adaptability is at the core of coworking, so membership options are always designed to cater to your changing work requirements and team dynamics. Most spaces offer month-to-month memberships, enabling you to adjust your workspace to your changing needs. Whether your business is growing or downsizing – or you just want to upgrade to a more private setting – you always have the flexibility to make the changes you need.
While your membership agreement may have specific terms regarding changes, don’t hesitate to reach out to AltonWorks to discuss accommodating your adjustments.
Coworking spaces typically have limited storage options, most of which are reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices. With that said, it’s best to contact the coworking operator directly via the form on the right side of the page to learn about available storage options.
For spontaneous collaboration and interaction, open desks provide an open and flexible environment. If you prefer a dedicated space with shared community elements, dedicated desks offer a great balance between personal space and interaction.
On the other hand, private offices are best suited for focused work and private interactions. They're ideal for solo workers as well as teams seeking a dedicated space, shielded from distractions.
Choosing the ideal coworking arrangement for you is about aligning your workspace with your work style, team dynamics, and project requirements.
Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Reach out here to set up a time to come and see the space.
