WeWork’s downtown location is convenient, modern, and clean, but the overall experience didn’t justify the price for me. I’m a software developer, but my setup is pretty simple.
The space is clean and modern. During business hours it feels professional, the city views are great, and you’ll often meet interesting people.
Biggest downside: parking. There’s no free parking within a reasonable walking distance, and finding a spot near the building feels unrealistic unless you already have a monthly arrangement. The options I found were about $65/month, which adds up fast on top of a ~$200 membership.
Safety and access are also concerns. Relying on buses means dealing with uncomfortable situations at times, and walking in the area late can feel risky. I also ran into a recurring issue where WeWork hours and building security hours don’t match: so even if WeWork is technically open, the building may be locked and you can’t get in.
Not ideal for focused work setups. This location didn’t offer the kind of real desk space I need as a developer (room for a monitor, organization, and long sessions). I’ve used other coworking spaces in Tampa that felt more comfortable and better designed for deep work.
Amenities are inconsistent. The coffee is often lukewarm by midday and doesn’t get refreshed often.
I’d strongly avoid signing any long-term “commitment” plan. Cancellation is extremely difficult.
Overall, I’d recommend checking other coworking options in Tampa before committing here, especially if you drive or need a proper desk setup.
