I rarely leave reviews, but this situation warrants one. To be clear, the phone staff was polite and professional—my review is purely about Gravity Haus’s backend business practices. I travel often and haven’t stayed at a Gravity Haus property before this, but I absolutely will not be returning. I’ve never had this type of interaction with a property I’ve stayed at prior. I’m a little perturbed by the fact that I stayed at Gravity Haus in June, checked out with the front desk—where they had relayed to me my total balance was settled—and then three months later, in September, are calling me about an unpaid food and beverage charge of $30 from the forefront of June. It’s not about the cost, it’s about the principle for me. I inquired why this wasn’t caught at checkout, or even the week or month following and why I haven’t been notified up until this point and there wasn’t really an answer other than “The system may not have caught it until now”. Three months after the fact? I just find this deeply unprofessional and odd. I was carrying a lot of cash on this trip so it’s possible I did room charge it and it’s possible I did not and it was paid out of pocket—there’s no way for me to verify if this is a valid charge because it’s been three months. I would not stay at this property or any of their others in the foreseeable future—it left me feeling completely put off. Winter park has limited options, but I would highly recommend staying elsewhere if you don’t want to be tracked down for mysterious charges with little to no verification at a later date. This is not how business should be conducted.
