I would like to raise a concern regarding my recent interaction with the front desk staff located on the 17th floor common area. While attempting to deliver a check in person at Nomad’s request, I approached the reception desk for assistance. The two front desk employees (a blonde and a brunette woman) responded by stating that the matter was “not their problem” because they work for WeWork and that I was trying to reach someone at Nomad. While I understand that they are employees of WeWork rather than Nomad, the response and tone were unprofessional and dismissive. Given that they are positioned at the reception desk within a space utilized by tenants such as Nomad, it would be reasonable to expect a basic level of customer service and professionalism when interacting with visitors attempting to conduct business with tenants in the building. Even if the request ultimately fell outside their responsibilities, a courteous explanation or direction toward the appropriate contact would have been the appropriate response. Instead, they stated that only the tenants can request visits from guests, not the other way around. Thus I went through every LinkedIn profile of employees at Nomad and included them on an email chain to get ahold of somebody. I'm sure they would have rather the receptionists to have just passed the message along. I would encourage consideration of additional customer service training for the front desk staff, particularly given their role as the first point of contact for individuals visiting tenants in the building. Interactions at the reception desk often reflect on both the building management and the businesses operating within it. I believe Nomad would likely want to be aware if visitors or customers attempting to conduct business with them are being treated in this manner while accessing the space they lease.
