Update 6/5/26 - I’d give zero stars if I could. As much as I love this building and have been with its growing pains, increasing my rent over 50% along with others is insane. Way to price out those who took the risk early when occupancy was under 20%. Not to mention that if you miss the 60-day mark of giving notice to bozzuto, the month-to-month rate leaps to over $13,000 a month. Screw you. Their own response to previous complaints reads: “we’re actively working to balance fair market pricing with resident retention. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will take your experience into account as we review future leasing practices.” I guess nothing was taken into account. It took them over 14 months to install a simple walkway between the Franklin garage and the fourth floor. 14 months for FIVE feet. Draw your own conclusions about how actively they work on anything. For those who don’t want their home treated as a public event venue every other week, chronic elevator failures, poor build quality, and a 50% rent increase as a thank you, There are comparable luxury options nearby for $1,000–$1,500 less per month. For those still considering living here, treat your time like a situationship because there’s definitely going to be a situation once your lease comes to an end. If there’s any positive takeaway from all this, it’s that my cardio’s gotten slightly better from all the walking around the block to the parking garage. ——— Update 7/21/24 - 4 stars - Finally moved in! Kubra, Aldrin, and all of the staff were extremely helpful in getting my roommate and I up to speed, and we were able to access the room within 30 minutes of submitting our first payment of rent. Overall mixed bag of expectation setting and compensation has been relatively poor but hopefully the amenities make up for it. This has been a very long process but i’m happy to make 1900 my new home. Fair warning - * there is only one working elevator as of today * limited access to 4th floor amenities * no access to the penthouse lounge until sometime in august * some 03 units do not have a kitchen window that opens * no security mesh on windows to prevent things from going in / falling out * no light fixture in living room and guest bedroom in 03 units (very dark) * Garage access is unsatisfactory, forced to walk around the entire block (potentially unsafe at night) * No golfing simulator (There is a golfing simulator in rendered amenities) Update 5/22 - 3 stars - The move-in date for the unit I've put a deposit on got pushed back from mid June to late July. No compensation was offered, as this issue affected "all residents". Personally, if a move-in date is set and is not honored, future residents should be compensated especially if the move-in date was delayed multiple times. Original move in date was expected to be 6/1. Then 6/15. Now it's 7/21. The staff are nice, Aldrin kept me up to date and I'm grateful for his constant support and willingness to help residents. Original: Going to be honest, I did not expect the building to not be finished when I came for the tour. However, Aldrin reassured me and went above and beyond in his service to ensure that all of my wants and needs were met. Thank you.

This is not a luxury apartment building. This is a public walkthrough where apparently anyone can come in whenever they want. The stak is very comfortable hosting their private events here, charging a lot of money, making profit, while we, the residents, are the ones paying for this circus. The money we pay for utilities and amenities is basically being used to maintain and support their private events. On top of that, residents are not even allowed to play music loudly by the hot tub, I’m living on the 31st floor and after an 11-hour workday and I can’t even relax because the music is so loud. I can only imagine how miserable it is for the poor residents on the lower floors who came home tired from work and now have to listen to this awful music. And of course, the trash fees I pay for my tiny studio — $65 to $80 every single month just for trash — are probably going toward cleaning up after these events too. I would not recommend anyone move into this building. Nobody here cares about the residents. The only people who have actually tried to help are Tatiana, Janet, and Ryan from management. At least they try. But everyone else clearly does not care, and honestly, that’s very sad — especially because many of them live in this building too. At this point, it feels like residents’ rights are being ignored, and the way these private events are being handled is completely unfair and unacceptable. Stak, I’m addressing you directly: if you want to host private events in this building, then you absolutely need to reduce our rent or remove these unbelievably expensive utility and amenity charges. You cannot charge residents luxury prices while treating the building like an event venue for outside guests. That is not fair, and it is not what residents are paying for. By the way, tonight’s event is apparently hosted by Yelp — so yes, I will be writing about this on Yelp as well.

Been here for about 3 months now and it’s been the best 3 months of my life. Staff is amazing, the apartment is arguably the best in Oakland and the amenities are top tier. Big shout out to Mia, Tatiana, Estelle and all the people who make it amazing to live here

A Disappointing Chapter, Would Not Recommend When I first moved in, I was genuinely charmed. The building looked sleek, the lobby felt welcoming, and I even left a kind review during those early weeks. But living somewhere is very different from admiring it, and the longer I stayed, the more the polished image began to crack. What started as small inconveniences slowly revealed a deeper pattern. The infrastructure couldn't keep up with the size of the community, and when essential systems faltered, there were no thoughtful backup plans in place, only apologies and patient smiles that began to feel rehearsed. Day by day, the gap between how the building presented itself and how it actually functioned grew harder to ignore. The management team, while always pleasant on the surface, consistently chose image over impact. Concerns raised by residents were met with warm acknowledgment but rarely with meaningful follow-through. Emails went unanswered, promises drifted into excuses, and genuine accountability felt perpetually out of reach. Over time, what should have been a partnership between residents and management started to feel transactional — a relationship where appearances mattered far more than people. That tone seeped into everyday life here. Issues that should have been resolved in days stretched into months, quietly eroding comfort, focus, and even relationships between neighbors. The cumulative weight of unresolved problems made the building feel less like a home and more like a place I was simply waiting to leave. And I'm not alone, the steady stream of residents moving out tells its own story. Looking back, the experience has felt like watching a beautifully staged set slowly come apart behind the scenes. The branding promises a premium lifestyle, but the substance behind that promise simply isn't there. I'm counting down to the end of my lease, hopeful for a place where residents are treated as people rather than props in a marketing photo. I do not recommend this building.
