Formal Complaint – Spaces Menlo Park Posting this as a formal complaint and last attempt to get resolution. I started my membership 2/18/2025 after moving from LA to NorCal. Anita gave an excellent tour—warm, transparent, and professional—so I signed right away for an assigned coworking desk (business name was Path to Goals, later Define Together). The first few months were great. Then things declined: recurring facility issues (bathrooms not working properly) and unreliable internet. I also discovered charges for “priority internet” and “coffee” that I did not request or use (coffee required a separate card system, which I never used). The most serious issue was renewal/billing. My original agreement was 6 months ending 8/31/2025. Before the renewal deadline (per their email), I replied on time stating I did not accept the price increase and wanted to discuss options before renewal. I did not click to accept any renewal and did not consent to new terms. No one followed up. I was redirected repeatedly with no clear way to resolve it. Despite my documented email, my agreement auto-renewed at a higher rate (more than once) and continued charging even after I stopped using the office and moved out. This caused significant financial strain. To be clear: I did not approve the renewal, the increased pricing, or added services. I’m requesting: 1) direct communication, 2) correction of the renewal/billing issue, and 3) reimbursement for charges applied without consent. I am a business owner myself, and I am a person who values kindness, professionalism, and direct communication. I do not take posting public reviews lightly—this is genuinely the first time I have ever done this. However, after months of unanswered emails, continued billing, and no clear resolution, this appears to be the only remaining way to prompt accountability and communication. I also want to be equally clear about something positive: Anita recently returned, and the contrast was immediate. She responded promptly, reviewed my account with care, and followed through with clarity and compassion. Her professionalism and responsiveness reaffirmed that my original decision to choose Spaces was based on the right standard of service. She deserves explicit recognition for her integrity, responsiveness, and customer care. I’m open to a resolution and giving Spaces another chance if this is handled appropriately.
