I brought my students here and was very impressed with the experience they had. We got to do qPCR, SDS PAGE, cell staining and cell counting. They have so many different possible labs. I really want to plan to come back soon!

We are so privileged that this program is here in OC. Where else can teens start building their skills to become competitive interns before they even reach college? My high schooler has been able to learn science hands on. His ideas of research he can conduct to help people have a better life, has been exploding with ideas, now that he understands how testing cells works within a lab, and how to write a research paper. This is a dream come true to have access to actually test out his ideas. This lab really trusts youth to use professional equipment, get their hands in and start conducting the science of the future now. My son has worked over a year on his study and put in the extra time to now submit his research results for publication. I highly recommend this program to any student interested in health, medicine, biology, agriculture, public health, chemistry, and bio engineering. The education team for youth, all have made my son feel that they genuinely care for his progress to grow in science. It takes a ton of patience to work with teens and esp teens using equipment that most places only trust adults with. I LOVE that this organization is a non-profit. They also volunteer with Irvine Unified School District's science competition. That's the cherry on top for our family.

The staff here at ULP has been very supportive, informative and helpful. The facilities are newly remodeled and very aesthetically pleasing. For bioengineering companies there’s a great deal of lab equipment available although for companies in the medical device space there isn’t a whole lot of supplies/equipment for prototyping outside of 3D printers and large flat bed laser cutter.

The biology lab was a great way to apply what we learned in class, and the teachers did a good job explaining each step. The experiments were engaging and helped me understand the material on a deeper level.

ULP Labs in Irvine has an amazing Molecular Biology 1 course with a super knowledgeable and friendly instructors who makes everything easy to follow. The labs are really fun and give you a lot of hands-on experience that helps you actually understand what you’re learning. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in science because it was such a great experience!
