I rented a private office at Regus Alameda for one year and would strongly caution anyone considering this location. Three issues stand out: First, the office was delivered in poor condition. It took six months for Regus to complete basic repairs, during which I paid full rent for a space that was not delivered as promised. Second, at renewal Regus nearly tripled my monthly rent with no meaningful discussion or willingness to negotiate. This effectively forced me out. Third, upon departure Regus charged a $575 restoration fee for a tiny office I used approximately ten times and returned in perfect condition, documented with timestamped photographs. When I disputed the charge, I learned the fee amount was contained in a House Rules document emailed to me two days after I signed my agreement. The center manager and sales manager were unable to resolve the dispute and the charge was upheld with minimal engagement about my concerns. Before signing with Regus, I encourage you to check their BBB profile. They have hundreds of complaints and did not respond to mine or to the vast majority of others listed there. I intend to file complaints with the CFPB and the California Attorney General's Office and am pursuing a chargeback with my card issuer. There are far better coworking options available. Do your homework before committing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Regus - Marina Village operates during regular business hours, which are listed above. For any requests or requirements outside of these hours, please contact the coworking operator directly.

  • Most, if not all, amenities are available to you as a member, regardless of the type of membership. Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member. All complimentary services are available and anything ancillary can be purchased or negotiated with Regus.

  • Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Schedule a tour here by filling out the form along with the date and time when you would like to visit the space and we’ll see you there.

  • Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the best parts of coworking. Most coworking memberships are month-to-month, so you can quickly adjust your space preferences according to your unique requirements and the size of your team. Whether that means upgrading the space or downsizing it or even completely changing the type of coworking subscription that you use, you always have the option to adjust as you go.

It may be possible to adjust your membership before current membership ends, but you will have to discuss and negotiate directly with Regus, who is more than happy to help out.

  • While storage in coworking spaces is generally limited, and mostly reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices, you should always check with the coworking operator about additional storage solutions. Fill out the form on the right side of the page to reach out to them and learn all about the available options.
