I got a membership to Switchyards yesterday, and it has already been an absolute game-changer for my productivity. I used to work out of places like Starbucks, and the difference is honestly night and day. Here, I can focus deeply without constant noise or unnecessary distractions. The space is extremely clean, tidy, and well maintained, the coffee is great, and the overall environment feels calm and intentional. It’s not loud or chaotic, and there are very few distractions, which makes it easy to lock in and get real work done. I especially appreciate not being around people who are disruptive or treating the space like a hangout — something I ran into often elsewhere. One of my favorite features is the soundproof phone booths, which make it easy to take calls or meetings without disturbing others or being distracted. The conference room is amazing as well — perfect for more focused discussions or collaboration when needed. Another huge plus is that they’re open 24/7. I’m currently working against deadlines, and having a place where I can come in at any hour and work comfortably without feeling rushed is incredibly valuable. Being around like-minded people who are actually there to work makes a big difference too. It’s the perfect balance of community and focus, and much better than feeling isolated in a home office. I already love this place and will definitely be recommending it to people all around.

Great place and environment for every independent contractors needs. Plenty of work space, seclusion rooms, and coffee to make the day work. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cool spot to work remotely from.

Not great for coworking. The music is incredibly loud, which made it very hard to focus. Might as well go to a coffee shop for the same vibe but at least they have coffee options there.

AHHH! I cant say enough about Switchyards. 1- I am so incredibly grateful to have this as a resource in my city. 2- It has become a total sanctuary for my business and my entire creative process. Every space is so intentionally designed and that just means a lot to me. With raging ADHD, having so many different settings, vignettes, and environments to move in and out of has helped me get so much accomplished. and really- the best benefit? Having a place to gather with other people as a solo entrepreneur. Collaboration is born here- and that is priceless. Hands down my favorite expense each month.

This is such a great addition to Birmingham! I love that I can stop by at any time of day to get some work done. There are lots of different types of tables and desks and I've never had an issue finding a spot that works for me. The space has a great vibe, good music, and is always clean. All the other folks working are really respectful towards one another. Honestly, I don't have a negative thing to say about Switchyards -- it's made my workday a lot better!

Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member.
