We spent two weeks working as a group in this coworking space. Prior to our stay, we were in contact with the team to arrange booking and key access, which was very easy and uncomplicated. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our time there, which we really appreciated. Our first impression of the space was very positive: the building is spacious and airy, and the overall setup felt modern. Free parking is available on-site, which is a great bonus, although only between 9 am and 5 pm when the gate is open. The desks are comfortable to work at, and we especially liked that external monitors were available for free. We were happy that there is a kitchen with basic utensils and a microwave because there are no lunch spots nearby. However, we were disappointed by the cleanliness. Sometimes it seemed that the space wasn't cleaned properly. The atmosphere was very quiet and gave off a slightly abandoned vibe - not what we were used to from other coworking spaces. The women's restrooms are in poor condition and had a strong odor. While there was a room with games and space to take breaks, it didn't seem well maintained either. There is free coffee but we cannot recommend it. All in all, the coworking space has a lot of potential and some great features, but cleanliness, maintenance and atmosphere are areas that have to be improved to make it a more welcoming place. Therefore, we cannot really understand the consistently very positive reviews in the past. As it is now, we wouldn’t recommend the space 100%. On top of that, we asked multiple times for invoices we needed for our internal accounting. We were told we'd get them by e-mail, but despite several reminders over the following weeks, nothing ever arrived. This lack of reliability was really frustrating and unprofessional.

Very nice, clean and well appointed facility. Perfect for a day’s work away from office.

As a "digital nomad", I've spent time in various flex offices and co-workspaces throughout the country. In Leiden, HetGroenOord ranks among my top 3. The space is well-equipped, and the environment has a productive atmosphere to work in. The staff, particularly Luuk and Ingrid, were very welcoming and helpful. I'd recommend HetGroenOord to anyone who's looking for a workspace in Leiden.

Most, if not all, amenities are available to you as a member, regardless of the type of membership. Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member. All complimentary services are available and anything ancillary can be purchased or negotiated with Het GroenOord.

The open desk is the way to go if you’re looking for a flexible workspace in an open environment where you can socialize with other members. Or, choose a dedicated desk if you want a designated space that also allows you to keep in touch with the community.
A private office works wonders if you or your team need a quiet, secluded space to conduct your work and interact with people in your organization.
It’s important to understand the different types of coworking arrangements available to you, depending on the type of work that you do and its duration, and whether you’re a solo worker or part of a team.
