This party is unreliable. I haven't received my deposit twice, despite multiple promises. And they just keep going.

Last April, I signed a one-year lease with Stadstuin Kaaphoorn. Barely a month later (early June), they declared bankruptcy due to poor communication. So I can kiss my two-month deposit goodbye. In short, you can understand why I feel pretty ripped off by Stadstuin. It seems to me that you know the financial situation a month in advance. I had to hear it from a fellow tenant. Then suddenly they have brand-new locations, a flashy new website where they claim to have "500+ happy tenants" and future locations in Rotterdam and Paris. I think I can speak for the few hundred tenants at the Kaaphoorn location that we're definitely not among them. Perhaps Tim Hofman can still make something of this. [EDIT] As you can read in the comment below, no responsibility is taken for hiring new tenants one month before the bankruptcy was declared. Here's a quote from rechtspraak.nl: Bankruptcy Procedure Process Generally, the hearing in bankruptcy proceedings takes place within six weeks of filing the petition. The ruling follows during the hearing or as soon as possible thereafter. In addition, we received some leniency from the property owner when he decided to take over the rental role himself and not charge rent for two months. Stadstuin had nothing to do with that.
