Maybe I was just unlucky because it was during the Amsterdam Dance Event, but honestly, for over €500 a night, this place is a scandal.
The staff at check-in were friendly, but the check-in took forever, even though there was only one couple ahead of us. The room was a disaster: it smelled strongly of cat urine, the air conditioning didn’t work, the safe was jammed, and everything felt old and worn out. We had to sleep with the window open.
We had been told there would be 24-hour room service, but that was not true. When we tried to order beers late in the evening (2am), the guy at reception refused, saying it was “too late.” Then we ordered some beers with uber eats, the reception never told us they received the beers until check out the next day at 11am. Great.
The breakfast was extremely basic (really, really, really basic), with almost nothing available, and yet it’s not included in the room price. Anything beyond the bare minimum, like a hot dish, has to be ordered from the à la carte menu. It’s not expensive, but still, there’s hardly anything offered.
And to top it off, the check-out was just as painfully slow as the check-in.
Maybe this used to be a nice hotel years ago, but not anymore. For the price, it’s absolutely not worth it. A huge disappointment, I definitely would not recommend this hotel.
