I went there at lunchtime, so I couldn't see the auction. You can take photos with the life-size tuna. I recommend going there early.

The best deal for king crab is at the Tsukiji Market entrance.

The staff are helpful. They have an English menu. Open until 4 pm. The tuna is excellent. The miso soup is delicious. Try it.

You have to be here during auction hours for a more lively atmosphere. Otherwise it will be pretty quiet. Auction begins around 5-6am. Great place to learn about the auction though.
