Birsa Munda Airport (IATA: IXR, ICAO: VERC) is a domestic airport serving Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, India. It is named after the famous Indian tribal freedom fighter, Birsa Munda, and is currently managed by Airports Authority of India. The airport is located in Hinoo, approximately 5 km (3.1 mi) from the city center. The airport sprawls over an area of 1,568 acres. The airport is used by more than 2.4 million passengers annually and is the 27th busiest airport in India.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Birsa Munda Ranchi Airport. Very spacious, well ventilated, clean and shiny. Better than most tier II city airports. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place has a decor that is a mix of historic and ethnic, highlighting the indigenous culture and infrastructure buildup since independence. Plentry of shops and an executive lounge to cater to food, drinks and ethnic shopping

My biggest concern with Ranchi airport is that water is not free. Their is free water but not anywhere to refill water bottles which should be basic. And this is basic everywhere only not in ranchi airport. Use less plastic but one time use plastic bottles are worst. No free wifi fyi it is one time use and it's speed suck. No where siting chargin points on upper level gates. This airport needs a renovation in today's basic amenities. And there was no hand tissue paper in mens bathroom
