I recently contacted Welsh Water to question a bill that included substantial standing and infrastructure-related charges despite very low water usage and several months where the property was not being used. What concerned me even more than the bill itself was the response I received. During the call, the explanation of the charges appeared to change several times, with different descriptions being given for what I was actually paying for. Rather than providing clarity, the conversation left me with more questions than answers. As a local resident, I also find it difficult to accept increasing costs while there are ongoing concerns about sewage pollution affecting coastal areas and beaches in the region. Whether these issues are accounted for separately within the company or not, from a customer's perspective it is hard to see the value in paying significant infrastructure and wastewater-related charges when the local environment appears to be suffering. My frustration is not simply about the amount charged. It is about transparency, accountability, and confidence that the infrastructure customers are funding is delivering the environmental outcomes it is supposed to. Based on my experience, I came away feeling that customer concerns were not taken seriously and that clear answers were difficult to obtain.

I received excellent customer service from Georgia after speaking to her on the phone today to try and get some clarity on our water bill. She was really patient, understanding and clearly spoke to us to clarify the misunderstanding!

Made enquiry about having a water metre fitted . Date arranged gentleman came and checked everything . Due to circumstances unable to fit one . Was put on assessed water charges and my bill reduced Very helpful on the phone when I rang and the gentleman whocame was really nice and explained reasons why . Obviously my bill reduction has helped but personally can't fault them .
