Bought Student storage for my daughter. Firstly I was told the deposit I paid to secure was refundable, but turns out, only if you don't go ahead. If you do, it becomes a surcharge added to your quote, so very misleading. Then when we went to the unit to book, they failed to inform us there is different levels of access, despite us telling them we had a six hour drive and would be emptying the unit in a Sunday afternoon or evening. No mention it would be closed then. We arrived at 5pm and had no access to all my daughters possessions for her new student house, which stressed her out ummeasurably and cost me dearly. We couldn't stay at her house, and had to book a hotel at great cost as it was last minute and very little availability. When I complained they appeared to say it was my word against their sales person that we hadn't been told. I think the worst part was that when we went back first thing Monday morning to get the stuff, the young man who sold us the unit and failed to inform us of the Sunday hours, handed me a leaflet with the hours on, saying "didn't they give you this when you signed up". No he didn't, as it was him who signed us up, or we wouldn't have just had to pay £115 for a hotel. I use storage for my business and an automated storage unit that is only open in reception hours is as useless as a chocolate teapot frankly. A company that prefers to believe inept staff over customers, is not worth dealing with again and it seems they value just getting money in, not providing a good service. A very unpleasant experience.
