This museum was amazing. It may look small from the outside but is much bigger inside. Over 4 floors with a standard size lift is fully wheelchair accessible. This museum has a bit of everything in. Takes you back to the 90's at the moment and then covers the power plants and more. Would highly recommend this and the staff were very helpful.

Amazing museum! We were here around 4.5 hours and it was time very well spent! The permanent exhibitions include local history from the stone age to WWII with a large section devoted to Sellafield. When we visited there was also a section devoted to 90s youth culture. All of it was very interesting and well presented, with just the right balance of information, without it being too detailed and technical. The interactive displays were also great fun. The cafe on the ground floor is also definitely worth a visit for a hot drink and tasty snack. I would definitely return to this museum and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone else in the area.

Lovely visit today with friends and two teens. Brilliant exhibition and a trail for them to follow.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Reach out here to set up a time to come and see the space.

  • For spontaneous collaboration and interaction, open desks provide an open and flexible environment. If you prefer a dedicated space with shared community elements, dedicated desks offer a great balance between personal space and interaction.

On the other hand, private offices are best suited for focused work and private interactions. They're ideal for solo workers as well as teams seeking a dedicated space, shielded from distractions.

Choosing the ideal coworking arrangement for you is about aligning your workspace with your work style, team dynamics, and project requirements.

  • Most, if not all, amenities are available to you as a member, regardless of the type of membership. Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member. All complimentary services are available and anything ancillary can be purchased or negotiated with The Beacon Museum.

  • While storage in coworking spaces is generally limited, and mostly reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices, you should always check with the coworking operator about additional storage solutions. Fill out the form on the right side of the page to reach out to them and learn all about the available options.

  • Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the best parts of coworking. Most coworking memberships are month-to-month, so you can quickly adjust your space preferences according to your unique requirements and the size of your team. Whether that means upgrading the space or downsizing it or even completely changing the type of coworking subscription that you use, you always have the option to adjust as you go.

It may be possible to adjust your membership before current membership ends, but you will have to discuss and negotiate directly with The Beacon Museum, who is more than happy to help out.
