We visited recently without a reservation and were warmly welcomed and accommodated by the staff despite the pub being busy. As someone with a couple of food intolerances, I really appreciated our waitress taking the time to discuss the menu and recommend suitable options. I chose the vegetable risotto, and it was absolutely outstanding—perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and one of the nicest risottos I've had in a long time. Our waitress mentioned that it had been prepared by a 20-year-old chef, which made it even more impressive. Please pass on my compliments to him; he should be very proud of his work. Excellent food, friendly and attentive service, and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub to others.

Went for lunch with wife and son for her birthday. Never been before and will go again. Don't expect fast food though as it's obviously cooked to order and comes to you piping hot. Quality is good too as are portion sizes! Staff were friendly and attentive with a good report with customers. Five stars as it serves Whitebait!
