I requested online quotes from several self-storage companies. Big Yellow Storage provided one of the most detailed quotes, which is understandable given that they are a leading company in the market. However, I initially decided to go with another provider that was cheaper and better suited my needs. Shortly afterwards, I received a call from Alf (who I believe is the manager of the Twickenham branch), offering to match the price of £160. I agreed to this. I then loaded my van and went to the branch, only to be told that I had to pay £280 instead. This included compulsory insurance, a locker fee, and a £30 deposit, which I was told would be refunded. I felt misled and pressured into proceeding under different terms than those agreed over the phone. The final prices were only confirmed after I had already signed the contract, which was very disappointing. Overall, this was a very poor experience and not what I expected from a company of this reputation.
