We had the most amazing experience at The Shire Retreat, hosting our charity retreat in support of Freddie’s Future. It really was the perfect setting for such a special occasion. From the very beginning, George was absolutely amazing. He supported us throughout the whole booking process, was incredibly helpful and made sure that everything was organised and that we were looked after every step of the way. A huge thank you also to Steve at the Gatehouse and Annette, the lifeguard, who were both so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. What makes The Shire Retreat particularly special is the feeling that you are being welcomed into a family-owned business where people genuinely care. We felt looked after, welcomed and completely at home from the moment we arrived. The lake was incredible, the facilities were spotlessly clean, and the beautiful grounds provided the perfect opportunity to walk, relax and enjoy the surroundings. The location is simply stunning and creates such a peaceful atmosphere. And, of course, the sauna was incredible! The plunge pool was definitely for the brave amongst us, but what an experience! The whole setting is beautiful, peaceful and unique. It was an absolute pleasure to host our charity retreat here, and we couldn't have wished for a more perfect location. Thank you to everyone at The Shire Retreat for helping to make our Freddie’s Future charity retreat so incredibly special. We would wholeheartedly recommend The Shire Retreat and would love to return again in the future. A truly beautiful place, run by truly lovely people.

A great place to work, beautifully designed & a wonderful location! It's really nice as a remote worker to be able to have somewhere to go to for a change of scenery, and what beautiful scenery it is!

I could not find a reliable official website or listing for The Shire Retreat from search, so I have kept this based on your direct experience. I attended a business retreat at The Shire Retreat and absolutely loved the experience. The setting is excellent and the facilities are very high quality, with a great boardroom and event space that worked really well for a business group. The wider facilities were also impressive, including the sauna, cold plunge, tennis court and a lovely lake, which made the retreat feel both productive and relaxing. The host was excellent throughout, very supportive, welcoming and attentive. The only area I feel could be improved is the electric vehicle charging setup. The charging points are not open to the public and the process to access them felt unnecessarily complicated. For a venue of this standard, it would be much better if EV charging was easier and more straightforward for guests. Overall, a fantastic retreat location with great facilities and a very strong hosting experience. I would happily recommend it.

We had a beautiful day at the shire retreat. The grounds are stunning and a great location to pause and reset. Easy to fine, plenty of parking and a great host.
