Had dinner in this pub. Very disappointing. Starters were ok. Main course food (beef feather blade) was served cold - I asked for it to be reheated and they brought back the dish minus the mashed potato base and with different part cooked vegetables and minus the red wine and rosemary jus (they just served a thin weak Bisto gravy). Sent back again. Came back with the potato added but the rest was a massive disappointment. While we ate the staff clattered around us seeing up all the other tables for breakfast - difficult to talk with the noise. This was at 7.45-8pm on a Saturday night. Pub had very few customers. Recommend that you travel up the road to the White Horse in Scales (much better food, atmosphere and service)
Great pub meals and atmosphere, well worth a visit.. i always make a point of a visit here when we are in the Lakes, great food and choice atmosphere and drinks with good beer on handpull. Great staff especially the maître d' gentleman who welcomed us in and took our order..
I never usually leave reviews but had to say how lovely the Horse and Farrier is. We’ve come to the lakes every year for our anniversary and always come here for food (sometimes multiple times while we’re staying close by). The food has always been amazing and is one of the only places I have found as a vegetarian that has a good variety of choices to choose from, we’ve never been disappointed and the service is outstanding and the staff are always warm and welcoming. Could not recommend this place enough🤍
Great food and tasty beer
Me and my partner were staying just around the corner in a Lodge so this place being so close was perfect. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Very dog friendly aswell. Food was absolutely lovely, and very reasonably priced. Just wish we'd have been there more before returning home. Highly recommend
