I went there to take drone photography. Nothing there except a very old mine you can't get in because it's too dangerous. But it's nice to look at from outside... and drone the air. Video going to YouTube soon.... droneyolgit

I would have given this five stars because the Friends of Chatterley Whitfield did a superhero job of hosting the group. It was insightful and educational. This was my first visit to the colliery and I was really saddened to see the degree of dereliction the place has suffered over the years I presume due largely to lack of interest by the council and government in protecting our heritage. Also the report of children breaking in and climbing onto these big old rusty structures fills my heart with fear, when are we going to teach children respect as well as just plain safety and common sense. So unfortunately to loss of one star is in response not to the tour or the volunteers but to the council and government for not being more proactive in protecting this massive part of our history and heritage.
