My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to The Canteen. We were very warmly welcomed and promptly seated by the delightful hostess. The interior of the restaurant is charming and feels light and airy. Our server, Elizabeth, could not have been nicer! She deftly answered questions about the menu and provided efficient and friendly service throughout our meal. We ordered the lobster spaghettini and the pan-fried haddock and seasonal hodge podge. The food was delicious and very nicely prepared. We took Elizabeth’s recommendation and ordered the carrot cake and it was excellent, too. I would highly recommend The Canteen and look forward to returning when I am next in Halifax/Dartmouth.
Felix served us and he was the best bartender we have ever been served by, fast service, great pints, good banta, 5 stars!!

Absolutely stunning bit of lunch. Beef bruschetta and a long black; heaven. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff to boot.
