Update: The website appears to be down - not sure whether this means the space has now closed or not... As someone who’s worked remotely long before it became mainstream, I’ve used coworking spaces across the UK and Europe and am well placed to judge. This one is in a lovely location and has some definite strengths: A fantastic low price point, free coffee from the adjacent café, great lunch spots nearby, and unusually generous opening hours beyond 5pm – a rarity in coworking world and a real plus for those working late by choice or necessity. The space is nicely presented, with plants, plenty of plug points, a printer, and desk dividers for some added privacy. That said, it’s best when empty or nearly so. The space is small, and on busier days you may be subjected to loud business calls from others, who could just as easily use the soundproof booth. Similarly, the corridor outside can be noisy at times but Culture staff need to access the kitchen and storage areas. Accessibility may also be a concern for some: there’s a steep flight of stairs and no lift, making it unsuitable for those with temporary or permanent mobility issues. Overall, a decent spot if your focus isn’t easily disrupted – but worth knowing these factors before committing (or commuting).

Not the best experience I’m afraid. I booked and paid for Sunday just gone, but I didn’t receive the email with the codes to get in. I followed up by email, still nothing. I email again on Tuesday asking for a refund. Still nothing. Not one for leaving bad reviews etc, but not been left with many other options. Shame, as I used once before a long time ago and it was fine.

As someone who’s worked remotely long before it became mainstream, I’ve used coworking spaces across the UK and Europe and feel well placed to judge. That said, it’s only truly workable when empty or nearly so. The space is small, and on busier days you're often subjected to loud business calls from others who don’t bother using the soundproof booth – even when it’s clearly needed. (It’s always surprising to me how comfortable some are broadcasting private details in public!) More recently, the corridor outside has also become noticeably noisier; I’ve even had to ask the bakery staff to stop slamming doors – not something you expect in a paid workspace, regardless of price point. While such factors aren’t entirely within Rise’s control, they do affect how often I choose to work here, especially when I need deep focus or need to listen to webinars. Accessibility may also be a concern for some: there’s a steep flight of stairs and no lift, making it unsuitable for those with temporary or permanent mobility issues. Overall, a decent spot if your focus isn’t easily disrupted – but worth knowing these factors before committing (or commuting).

Really great value working space in the centre of Slaithwaite! I work from home and travel to visit family but still need a space to work from. The space is ideal - quiet and with a booth for teams calls. Not to mention the staff were really helpful! All the details I needed to access the space were sent to me before I even arrived and it is very clear how to get in. Also for the price you cannot beat it - even get a free coffee! There is air conditioning and the room is bright. I would definitely recommend!
The open desk is the way to go if you’re looking for a flexible workspace in an open environment where you can socialize with other members. Or, choose a dedicated desk if you want a designated space that also allows you to keep in touch with the community.
A private office works wonders if you or your team need a quiet, secluded space to conduct your work and interact with people in your organization.
It’s important to understand the different types of coworking arrangements available to you, depending on the type of work that you do and its duration, and whether you’re a solo worker or part of a team.
Most coworking space amenities are open to all members, regardless of the membership plan. Meeting rooms require prior reservation, and private offices are exclusively available to those with subscription packages. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to everyone. Complimentary amenities are also available to all, while ancillary services can be purchased or negotiated individually with Rise CoWorking.
While storage in coworking spaces is generally limited, and mostly reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices, you should always check with the coworking operator about additional storage solutions. Fill out the form on the right side of the page to reach out to them and learn all about the available options.
Adaptability is at the core of coworking, so membership options are always designed to cater to your changing work requirements and team dynamics. Most spaces offer month-to-month memberships, enabling you to adjust your workspace to your changing needs. Whether your business is growing or downsizing – or you just want to upgrade to a more private setting – you always have the flexibility to make the changes you need.
While your membership agreement may have specific terms regarding changes, don’t hesitate to reach out to Rise CoWorking to discuss accommodating your adjustments.
Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Reach out here to set up a time to come and see the space.
