My local shopping centre which has been part of my life for 46 years. This place has not changed a great deal over the years. It's lost the black pyramid from the car park near the Viking. And we should start a campaign to bring the large inflatable rooftop caterpillar back. Think it was called Connie the caterpillar.... But the memories of the broken biscuit shop, Duncan's crinkle cut chips, a 2 floor co-op, Presto, Harvels the Chemist, High fashion fro All Man Kind, the cinema next to Kings Chippy and the very rude talking minor bird from the pet shop still make me smile.

The Bike Works

Normally we go there all year to set up our community bike stall which we do for free, with permission from the concourse. However, Mr Jobsworth who now runs the place obviously has swallowed the Health and Safety rules and regs, moved us off-site after we had set up quoting the RULES that because we were too close to the building in case of an evacuation then we would be in the way and a national emergency would prevail. You can't argue with bureaucrats so we moved the extra 2 meters away!!! Thank you for making us so welcome.
