I parked in a 1-hour free parking area and wanted to be sure I complied in case I stayed longer, so I attempted to pay. The app did not work (I have screenshots), the cash machine was not working, and when I tried to call the number provided I was met with an automated system that did not allow payment. Despite clearly attempting to pay using all available methods, ParkingEye later issued a charge and rejected my appeal, claiming there were payment methods available — even though I provided photo evidence showing otherwise. I simply don’t have the time or energy to take this to court while working full-time and raising a child, which I suspect is exactly what this business model relies on. This experience felt punitive, unfair, and designed to extract money rather than manage parking. I would strongly advise anyone parking in a ParkingEye-managed site to be extremely cautious, especially if their payment systems fail.
